Learning across the curriculum

STEM Initiatives

Our Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) faculties have developed an integrative school program for Year 8 students through a partnership with the University of Sydney.

Members of the STEM team worked collaboratively to develop a submission to participate in STEM Enrichment Academy Program in 2017-18. This team was selected to be one of just ten schools to be a part of the partnership with the University. This was based on the teams' proven track record of innovative pedagogy as well as the way our staff have authentically embedded STEM into the school curriculum in previous years.

Literacy and Numeracy

Literacy and numeracy initiatives are at the core of each faculty's programs. Each subject teaches the foundational literacy and numeracy skills as well as the language relevant to their academic disciplines. It is essential for learning, educational attainment, personal enrichment, social interaction and future employment and to ensure our students can actively participate in all aspects of society as ethical and informed citizens. 

Sport

Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture.

Special religious education (SRE)

All NSW schools offer special religious education (SRE) and special education in ethics (SEE).  Our school offers Combined Christian SRE provided by representatives of the Australian Christian Churches. This is a voluntary program and parents can decide if they want their child to attend scripture or opt out of the program.
