Science and Agriculture

The aim of the Science Faculty at Jamison High School is to successfully create a learning environment where students use inquiry-based learning techniques to develop a deep knowledge and understanding the physical, chemical and biological world around them. In Science, students learn to:

  • apply strategies to produce plausible solutions to identified problems

  • develop a knowledge and understanding of the nature, development, use and influence of Science

  • plan and perform first-hand investigations as an individual and as a team member

  • further develop critical thinking and problem solving skills

Our Agriculture program at Jamison High School has been designed so students can develop their knowledge and understanding of agricultural enterprises and the practices and skills required in producing plant and animal products. Through practical farming techniques at the school farm and second-hand experiences, this course develops skills in the effective management of sustainable production and marketing practices that are environmental and socially responsible.
