Sport and physical activity is a valued and accepted part of our school's curriculum, contributing to the development of the whole child. It provides a vehicle for social, physical, emotional and moral learning and is an important expression of our culture.

Sport at Jamison high school is integrated into the daily timetable and instructed by experienced PDHPE staff.

Inter-school sports competitions

There are also opportunities to represent our school at inter-school sports competitions. We offer students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of school sporting teams including:

  • AFL
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Football
  • Netball
  • Rugby League
  • Tennis,
  • Touch Football, and
  • Volleyball.

As a NSW public school, we benefit from the opportunities for shared activities and competitions with other schools, coordinated by school sports associations. See the School Sport Unit website for details.

Whole-school sport events

We coordinate our annual Cross Country, Athletics and Swimming Carnival throughout the year. These events are always a huge amount of fun and showcase the tremendous sporting talent we have at Jamison High, as well as the sense of sportsmanship, fair play and team spirit which is so fundamental to success.

Year 7 Nepean Zone Gala Day

Jamison High school competes in the annual Year 7 Nepean Zone Gala day. This event provides all Year 7 students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of social and competitive activities with other Year 7 students from across the Zone. Our Physical Activity and Sports Studies students assist on the day as coaches, team managers and officials. This day is a wonderful example of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
