Technology and Applied Studies

With the rate of innovation and technological development in today's world, it is imperative that students are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the future. In industrial arts, our students engage with state-of-the-art industrial equipment to design and implement new solutions through project-based learning.

The teaching philosophy of the design and digital technologies faculty is to engage and inspire students to develop skills which are future focused and transferable to real-world, post-school situations. We offer a variety of innovative courses across Years 7-12 including food technology, hospitality, textiles, early childhood care, community and family studies, industrial technology and information and software technology..

English

An understanding of the English language is central to how we communicate and essential for intellectual, social and emotional development. The study of English should develop a love of literature and learning and be challenging and enjoyable. It develops skills to enable students to experiment with ideas and expression. English enables students to recognise and use a diversity of approaches and texts to meet the growing array of literacy demands, including higher-order social, aesthetic and cultural literacy.

Human Society and its Environment / Languages other than English (LOTE)

Human society and its environment is the study of how humans interact with the world, how society operates and how it is changing. Through our courses, students develop the skills to prepare them to actively and responsibly participate as informed citizens in the contemporary world.

The study of history and geography are essential to create informed citizens who engage with the world through reasoned and enlightened means.

Our dedicated LOTE teachers offer courses in Japanese and French. Students engage with a stimulating learning experience as we explore foreign cultures.
